NIHR is participating in the 3rd Virtual Dialogue on the Role of National Human Rights Institutions in Promoting and Protecting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has participated in the 3rd virtual dialogue organized by Asia-Pacific Forum (APF) in cooperation with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in India, that highlighted the role of NHRIs in promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities.

The participants presented the experiences and practices of their countries in the field of promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, and a number of themes were addressed, most notably the importance of the participation of persons with disabilities in public and political life, and the challenges and obstacles they may face through the process of integrating them into society, in addition to the role of artificial intelligence in Enhancement of accessibility for persons with disabilities.

The dialogue, which comes as part of a series of events to promote active participation from all segments of society, and to establish best practices in the field of human rights among current members, was attended by representatives of the APF and a number of civil society institutions and international organizations concerned with human rights.
